Speaking from experience...I have black granite in my main bathroom and, had I known...I would not have put it here. In a bathroom where I have more "control" over things like water drops and toothpaste splashes I would consider it, but not in a bathroom that is used by many. (Unless you want to be running in behind everybody and wiping up! By the way, yes, I tried that...it's maddening!) Any water drops not wiped up immediately leave water deposits around faucet and taps and on counter. (And, yes, I provided a small cloth for wiping up behind oneself...) Having said that I have a dark counter in my en-suite bathroom (laminate and cheaper, yes, but this project was a budget challenge one...I will be posting pics once I have finished the project...) and I love it...but it has multiple shades in it and, therefore, hides more. So, you if you like the contrast of black and white, why not switch it up? White counters and black (or dark gray) cabinets?

The first close-up photo is area around taps...this is from a few hours of me not wiping it! Except for the build-up right around perimeter of tap...that's what happens when family members are left unattended! My shiny faucet is now tarnished from using the wrong cleaner to remove said build-up. The other pics are my en-suite counter...you can't even see the ring from yesterday's left-behind coffee cup!
