Have some fun with a tone on tone stencil...it will add interest, texture and depth to the cozy space.

I would switch your artwork over the couch and put the clock with the chair to create an ensemble!

That's a great idea to put the clock by the chair and ark work above the sofa. Everything was just painted but I think that will look better.. I'll see if I could switch them and just do a small patch to the holes. I'll still need something over the table I think. Right? I'm mad at myself for rushing and hang things without thinking it through.

This is the other side of the room. I do need something under the family pic and on top of the tv stand.

dyannerupp I rush thru things, too. I couldn't even begin to count the holes in the walls in my spare room, I'm pathetic. For the TV wall I would lower the 'family' to be even with the étagère and hang the picture below it, like you have it now. That way you'll have a clean line straight across with a little bump for the TV.

Well you have a fairly good color theme going there. But first, let's change the pillows. Since your already have that strong red wall, lets get some pillows with solid reds or printed red designs with some personality. You have to many pillows for the size of that sofa. Try not to go over 3 pillows. I would suggest shop at Ross or Ikea if you have one near you. I would take the black and white prints you have over the chair and by another print with those designs, Maybe order some old black and white framed( Laurel and Hardy, or 3 Stooges movie posters, and place them over the sofa. (Ok let's take the clock, outta the room) The clock is very old fashion, and should be in the kitchen, living room or someplace else. That clock throws off any conversation that you're having in the room. It's distracting to your guess, or whoever you have over for wine , beer, or coffee. Maybe an area rug with a tad bit of red personality to go with your red wall. Try using a floor lamp vs the table lamp you have there.

Your TV is hung too high. When you lower it (4-6"), you won't feel the need for something on the console.

Definitely not a clock and not unframed art. The ones in your last photo are a bit too large, but you're getting there!

An option is to put the family saying above the tv and family photo by the chair, as those look better above the sofa, the clock is not needed in the space.

I think the first thing you should do is lower the TV. The credenza should be 25% wider than the set but the speakers fool the eye into thinking that it is. The pouf on the right would be a good idea, but I'd want a pair of them, and they won't stay put you know.
