How to hide electrical cords in living room??

Help! What is a tasteful way to hide electrical cords on our living room floor? We have light bamboo floors with an electric reclining couch & chair that need to be plugged in. However, the couch & chair are in the center of our living room. Not against a wall. Our area rug does not cover the cords. What should we do?

I had access to the basement rafters directly under my couch as that part of the basement was unfinished. I had an electrical outlet installed in the floor. in my case it was for a lamp. It is hidden and no cords to trip over!

do what the decorators do! photoshop them out!

seriously, run them under other furniture so they cross the smallest/least traffic-ed run to an outlet. don't put them under a rug but you can order a rubbery cord cover that matches your flooring.

i move furniture around too much for a floor outlet to ever be in the right place tho.
