living room space

Hi,

i need help with my living room, i have a cream leather sectional sofa, a black tv stand with a 52 inch plasma tv, my walls are off-white.. Would it be ok to put a brown carpet, i prefer a off-white carpet, but i have 2 toddlers and i don't want to be stuck everyday washing the carpet.. what should i do.

Brown would be OK, but how about something with some pattern? I have attached some samples to look at. Not sure what your style is.

A pattern or at least a blend of colors solid brown shows lint and things like that.

I think a brown rug with some off white in it would be a good compromise.
