Historic brick/rock cottage with black trim?

last modified: 10 years ago

This home was built in 1926. Inside renovations are underway, and the landscape will be tackled in Spring after outside trim is done. Most area brick homes are trimmed in safe white or yellows/beiges/browns, but this prominent corner house needs something different. I appreciate whimsy, so am strongly considering all-black trim with sapphire blue door. I would very much appreciate ideas or feedback.

The brick and stonework here is breathtaking. Since your roof is black /dark . . and the beam lintel is stained brown . . consider a green gray / contrast instead ... something dark olive ..

I would go with a wood door; painted door is not the style for this architecture; but but wood and glass would be quite classic I think.

On the other hand I know nothing; went searching for wood door on brick house and they are all painted so here are some painted doors that you can get an ideas about!
