i like it because i can soak a ceramic baking dish in the sink without the bottom of the dish sitting in the water. and i can have a colander of veg draining on the grid and still pour off something next to it...without having to have a double sink thats not big enough to wash a fridge shelf. and i can have a stack of dirty dishes that don't block the drain, or fill up with drained pasta water..and and and a million reasons why it was worth the $100 or so. i gotta say they really are expensive.

feels like something you're just going to have to move all the time in order to rise food bits down the sink. maybe I'd try one if it came free with the sink, but I'd never seek one out for the rare occasions when it would make things easier. keep the sink space clear!

I have one for my white (cast iron I believe) kitchen sink. It completely protects it from those big pots & pans leaving grey marks in my pretty white sink. Suppose I'd do the same if I had a stainless sink for kitchen that is. We have a bar sink, no tray there.
