Updating kitchen! Stainless? Paint?

I am updating my kitchen and buying all new appliances and thinking of having cabinets painted. Not sure if I should go with stainless appliances or the new black stainless. What color would you paint the cabinets? I was thinking of off white with a darker color in the island. Been planning for months and afraid to take the first step.

You will be shocked by the transformation of painted cabinets. (Quit procrastinating! lol) Have you considered giving them an antiquing glaze over the off white? I have painted cabinets (maize with chocolate glaze) and I went with appliances which combine black and stainless together. It looks sharp and I am happy with my choice. With off white cabinets, stainless will look nice and it won't be a huge contrast.

Stainless steel would be a great choice. White cabinets are very popular, or you could also consider a light sage green. However, there's nothing wrong with white if you've been yearning for that color. And yes also to a darker island.

The cabinets I have now have a glaze and looked great 15 years ago. I like the way a light glaze would play up the panels. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you think white cabinets with a soft Grey center island would look okay or should I go darker? You are right. It's time to just DO IT! Whew...scary.

Since everyone now has to have a gray/white kitchen you should be able to find lots of pics to help you.

I prefer Sherwin Williams paint. I select colors but hire pro to paint. I designed the layout, hired experts (Miller Lane Studio) to do space planning in VA and Ovation for construction. In FL I also designed and had Artisan Designs do the construction.

The floors in VA had darkened and yellow Esso I had them sanded down and had acrylic coats added. This will not yellow and the floors are natural and show the woods perfections and flaws. Gorgeous.
