Have fun and experiment with your trees, but save your money to buy small grafted trees to plant directly in the ground once you are able to. They are not apartment dwellers.

In the meantime, do your research about the environmental requirements of your trees.....you'll soon learn about chilling needs, sunlight, planting sites, and much more.

Your state's cooperative extension service will be a good source of information regarding nut tree culture.

Thanks. Like I said I just want to keep them alive long enough to use them as scion sources for new trees when I have the space to put them in ground.

I will have an outdoor patio so chill isn't an issue. My main concern is yeah they want to get real tall. Will they flat out fail to thrive or can they be kept small enough to push through.
