My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Front door color - I took a chance!

Thank you all for your great advice while building our new home. It is almost finished! I wanted to know what you thought of the front door color we ended up with. Most of the homes in the neighborhood have wood or dark brown front doors (and most of the houses are also brick/stone, but there are a few siding/shingle style), so I went out on a limb in choosing this turquoise color. I have been asked by some of the builder people if that is the final color. Yes it is - inside AND outside! What do you think?


Also, question #2 - We went with black hardware on the front door, inside and out. The rest of the hardware inside is brushed nickel and the rest of the interior doors have knobs. I was originally going to get a level handle on the interior of the front door, since I am treating the front door as a separate entity in hardware choices. But, my husband liked the knob to match the rest of the interior doors. What do you think? See current pictures below
