They will be great together but do not have the wood sealed it is much easier to care for if left natural and you can reoil when needed wood has a wonderful enzyme that kills bacteria and when you seal it it can’t work

I would be cautious of marble countertops in the kitchen and would consider a marble looking quartz for its durability. Marble will stain and is much softer than quartz. Plus with quartz there is absolutely no maintenance. I had a client insist on using marble even though numerous people told her that it will stain and be harder to maintain. Three weeks after she put in her marble she has a large stain on her island.

We think wood countertops add an organic touch--especially as a contrast to white cabinets. Our clients love this walnut countertop that contrasts with their white cabinets. They did opt for darker wood base cabinets on the island, but we think it would look great with white base cabinets, too.
