Our downstairs entryway is tile, then the living room is carpet, and the kitchen/dining room is laminate. We really need to replace the carpet in the living room (we used to have a dog and it smells), but we cannot decide if we should go hardwood throughout (hubby says it will be cold) or if we should do a Stainmaster carpet in the living room, and leave the laminate in the kitchen/dining room. I am leaning towards hardwood because I really dislike the laminate, and I feel like a uniform floor will look better, but I also really like some of the Stainmaster carpets... Thoughts?
