I am looking for some advice on flooring, cabinets and counter tops for my soon to be new kitchen in my first house that I am having built. I am still in the early stages of construction but would like to get a head start on this. I am excited and yet stressed about the process and thought I might get some ideas here.
I started off by looking at flooring late last week and decided on wood tile floor for the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The floor rep helping me who was very informative and took a lot of time going through everything with me suggested that I go pick out my cabinets and counter top colors first before I pick out the color of the floor and that it would be easier to find a match for the floor that way. My GC who uses that company and sent me there to pick out my floor tells me the opposite, that I should pick out the color floor I want and then pick out the cabinets and counter top. If I prefer a dark floor I should pick out lighter cabinets and dark cabinets for a light floor.
I hoped this process would be somewhat fun now I'm thinking not so much. Any suggestions?
