I have a fancy schmancy shovel. When I'm not using it , it resides in my den so it won't get stolen. One of the original Zee Blades I got it from a fellow who sells gold prospecting and metal detecting equipment. About 3" wide blade opening fully 1/2 round cupped with a wicked point and shark tooth serration along one side. Between the handle and the blade, behind, is a padded step so you can drive it straight down into the ground to make a narrow hole for coring (or planting).

I wanted something to make a planting hole in existing planted beds and regular wide shovels were too wide. Maybe not fancy schmancy but beefy, well-made and perfect for the task.

Pictures please!! Both of you are guilty of having us "drool" all over the keyboard!! LOL!!

Here's a photo of my 'Spear Point' Spade. I'll remove the ribbons and add it to the ever growing collection of garden tools in the shed. It looks like some sort of martial arts weapon to me, but with all the bush digging and moving I plan on doing I'm sure it will get a workout once the sun comes out and I get over this cold.

The ribbons do make it fancy for sure!! LOL.
