The counters are granite. I can't remember the exact name of the stone as different suppliers use different Italian names but it is basically absolute black with an antique brushed finish. It has a uniform rough texture (rougher than flamed) to get away from the glossy granite look. Great stone on every level except when you are trying to write on a thin piece of paper at the counter!
