Happy New Year!!! My goal for January (the 12 days we will be in the country) is to cut at least 6 quilts for my mom. I have 4 cut in the last couple of days, so that should be do-able. I will go with her to her Project Linus meeting next week and help carry the 16 quilts she has finished! I will keep my eyes open for fabric in Costa Rica when we get there.

This month I'll keep working on the Quiltville mystery.

DH & I have spent most of last weekend and all day yesterday working on a home-improvement project. Truth be told, he's done most of the work while I supervised! LOL Anyway, we tore out our crappy wire-shelved pantry (and the horrible bi-fold doors) and he installed cabinets in the space. That of course prompted rearranging the kitchen, which prompted cleaning the cabinets, which prompted cleaning the refrigerator. We have one last cabinet insert on order to finish the project.

I started the New Year's day mystery yesterday morning, was sewing along nicely, then had to stop for phone calls from children. I got behind and then we went to neighbours for dinner. So my first goal is to finish that. By the way, it is the Weathervane pattern in a nice setting. Pretty easy.

Next goal. While talking to DDIL yesterday, she mentioned they now have a king sized bed, so, would I be able to make a quilt. She is not very particular and likes scrappy. I think a scrappy Log Cabin might be just the ticket. Will help use up the loads of strips and scraps which are taking over the sewing area.

Beyond that, who knows!

Yippy Skippy.....we're all going to Costa Rica (if Sue posts pictures on her blog, we can follow along.......my DH and I love going on trips with her and Toby). :-)

Today wasn't very productive at all for me! Got up about 3 hours earlier than normal so we could have breakfast with DD where the grandson is the 3rd shift cook at a restaurant. Had an awesome time but after getting home, my eyes kept closing and was barely awake when she left and that's what I did all day. Just could not stay awake!

It sounds like everyone will be busy this year! My plans for now are to finish the mystery quilt. I'm getting a lot done this week. We don't have Sami because her daddy has the week off work.

I would like to say I will spend more time sewing this year but not sure how that is going to work for me. I don't know if I have announced it here, but were are going to have two more babies in the family. DS and wife are expecting a boy in April and DD and hubby are expecting a girl in June. That also means more baby quilts!

Wow, Linda OH, you're having 2 new grandbabies this year. How fun! We're having a new great-grandson in July.......that brings us to a total of 8 greats. :-) Gotta get to thinking about a quilt for him.

My first UFO is completed for this year. Which means, Kenzie's first birthday present is ready.......that's a real feel-good feeling.

It's Jan 25th! My goals are completed except for Zelda (Finish Kenzie's quilt for her birthday. Work on Zelda. Work on that Purple thing that has 6 vertical rows. Finish a girly Littlest Warrior quiltet.). Kenzie's is completed and delivered, the purple quilt needs a border and the Girly LW needs backing and quilting.

I've started another LW - 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" rectangles with plain neutral and novelty.....scrappy. I'm into quick and easy right now because I get bored completing those UFOs, but they do come in handy when needed. I need to figure out which one I'll work on next month.

Well, I did keep working on the Quiltville mystery. The two tops are ready to assemble, I just needed break from it. And the kitchen reorg is done. :)

I haven't decided what to work on next. I was going to start a quilted jacket, then thought I'd make a couple of new blouses first, then thought I should really finish either the mystery tops or the KS Provence & Beyond that I started a while back.

The New Year's mystery top is finished, waiting for backing. And I have started the Log Cabin. It will be king sized so by my calculations, I need 96 blocks. Going to take a while.

Fortunately, I did not set any quilting/sewing goals, but maybe that's why I've been so uninspired! Drat! I did, however, get four January lotto blocks done; mailed off 3 of them. And have a table runner started in some Christmas print. This is simply because I wanted to make a certain block and measure the outcome...made two blocks and will strive to finish the table runner. Oh, and I did finish one of those log cabin Santa thingys that I had started before Christmas! I do have five days left, correct?? or six! My goal is to become inspired and set much higher goals for February!
