We are struggling with what flooring we should use with our new gray ikea kitchen. We have selected gray Bodbyn lower cabinets with the
Atlantic Salt Quartz (light gray and white tones) countertop, and are almost 100% on classic white rectangular subway tile for the back splash. We will not have upper cabinets, rather wooden open shelving above the back splash. I like the idea of rectangular tiles (24x12 or 7x20 size) on the floor in a herringbone pattern, but cannot choose a color. White? Light gray? Textured?
The room is small but light, open to both the living room and a sunroom. The rest of the house is original wood floors but because of cost cannot do wood in the kitchen (existing floors are ruined). The house is a 1920 farmhouse with many original features.
