Are you planning to add a prep sink to the island? If not, you have a barrier island - an obstacle between fridge and sink.

Are you only hoping for lighting placement or are you open to and can you make lay-out changes to correct the above?

We won't have a prep sink. And unfortunately we cannot make any changes to the layout.

Oh I'm sorry you cannot makes any changes, maybe down the road you could add a prep sink.

I think I would do one single chandelier in the middle. But if you do two, I think I would have them be parallel to the range and about where that dotted line is on the island. That way the light is more over where you might prep.

Ah, well, it's still better than the lay-out we had when we built this home 21 yrs ago. If only I had known better. =)
