What happened to transitional? That would be my favourite. Clean lines but not too sleek to appear cold and impersonal.

Though the others appear somewhat spacious, they're too busy for my style. I like the clean lined metal surfaces, defined tall windows and open functionality of the industrial kitchen. It's inviting style has an unexpected beauty.

I am def not one that gravitates towards "country " but if that's what the wood and since collection is being labeled than I'm in. However my finger wanted to click on industrial for the windows alone. They are spectacular, and to have such a huge grouping of huge windows in my kitchen would be a dream! The rest of the kitchen looks like a restaurant. The traditional to me had no imagination or individualism, and the contemporary does have a few elements I'd consider as well. Hard to pigeon hole a style when there are so many options and they really need to fit into the space and design of the house too

I waffled between traditional and country -- I love warm, natural wood tones and granite or other hard surfaces, wood or wood-look or ceramic tile floors. NOT concrete! NOT stainless! NOT white cabinets! Don't much care for islands, would rather have a nice kitchen table instead. The modern kitchens typically look not very functional and too severe, don't have enough storage usually, and the industrial kitchens really turn me off -- who wants to live in what looks like a high school cafeteria? They often don't have enough storage either.

Industrial all the way... U could add art and beautiful colors....

I've built some incredible kitchens in my day,as a cabinetmaker/remodeler/loving husband,it's what makes my wife's experience in the kitchen a dream versus a nightmare,so my answer is always function first.She can have whatever style she wants but prefers (easy cleaning) Euro/shaker

I like number 2. But I would use the lamps from Nr. 1. And the chairs probably too. Actually I love mixed styles, but only a little of industrial, because I do no like really big spaces.

I love the industrial look. It's beautiful. It is interesting. It's different. It's just perfect. I want to meet the builder and maybe hire him to do my kitchen.

I like either the contemporary or industrial look.

i have one comment - a funky square wooden table (modern or traditional - not metal) in the middle of our small kitchen has been an amazing magnet for bread making; the choice of friends joining us for informal supper; board games and even computer use on a snowy day. what's better?

Traditional is so... "traditional." Or can be "too traditional." I love traditional, but think from a design standpoint that it is essential to personalize the choice in tile, countertop, appliances, and definitely in wall color and window treatment or furniture. Don't be "too traditional" - it can be perceived as being boring or you may simply grow bored with it too quickly. Put a little pizzazz in your choice. Have fun!

I consider my kitchen to be "contemporary" with clean lines and modern appliances like an induction cooktop and a Bosch Speed oven, but we also opted for cherry cabinetry and hardwood floors. Modern traditional? What would you call it? (See images)

My preference wavers between industrial and contemporary. Very importantly though kitchens should be functional and bright/light. Oh, and did I forget LOW MAINTENANCE :-)?

I picked Industrial. I would have picked traditional, but I don't like the color of the wood on the island, and the stools are ugly, imo.

The country kitchen appears to be the most functional. It seems so warm and cozy to me. The traditional kitchen also appears warm with the wood countertop. It does look very livable besides those stools. I could walk right past the contemporary kitchen and not know it was a kitchen. Since I love the likeness to an atrium, I'm leaning towards the industrial kitchen.

Our kitchen is definitely Tuscan....so I would say a combo of traditional and rustic.

Traditional. So many style details are pretty, like exposed brick, or open pendant lights, or glass tables, or barn wood, or hanging utensils, or industrial seating, but the questions have to be asked: are these easily cleaned, comfortable, genuinely inviting? Does the space invite lingering and conversation? A traditional kitchen gives us a space for warm memories for what matters most - the people who gravitate here.

I'll take my modern any day. Clean, airy, chic.

Concrete is in because concrete has a similar service life or resilience as a multi thousand dollar granite install, for a fraction of the cost, while still being able to be colored or textured to match whatever decor or theme the room calls for. We started using in our flip properties years ago, primarily because it's cheap and low skill level compliant.

Pester - your kitchen is stunning. Looks like it should be in a magazine!! It isn't something I would be comfortable in, but sounds like it suits you perfectly. Isn't it great that we each can have what makes us happy??

Yes it great. We entertain so the space is good, separate dining room for formal entertaining. Wife wanted a booth area with circular seating, can't do it all. :-)

I like the contemporary. There's some warmth to it with the wood floors, rugs and gold pendants.

I don't think I fit into the categories. My esthetic is function first with simple natural lines, saturated colour and a human scale. So vast, echo-y spaces like in the contemporary and industrial kitchens you posted are out. And architectural furbelows (corbels, et al) of the traditional are out too. But rustic surfaces that are hard to keep clean don't please me either. And none of the options strayed out of a bland palette.

All of the choices were nice in their own way. But none of them were "me".

Getting ready for much needed new counters. Thinking we will go with dark granite.

I almost invariably call my preference transitional. I would never be comfortable in any room that is either stark or heavily decorated. Dark depresses me. Faced with a room with dark woods and furnishings, I just want light, light, and more light. Then I still want to paint it. Faced with a stark room, whether it's called modern or contemporary, I want to mess it up with stuff on the counters and pictures, clippings, and recipes stuck to all those bare cabinet fronts. To me, life is color. I would like to torpedo those trends toward monochrome, grey, black, white, and mushroom wherever they want to crop up. I want to paint my kichen cabinets a nice, happy, subdued orange, never mind resale value. I have to live in it now.

So as for these examples - why are the examples always so extreme?

-- Contemporary: Boring. Begging to be messed up, things parked on the counter and island, and stuck to that boring wall. And what is that black thing? It's meaningless. At least it's bright

-- Traditional: Not bad, but what exactly is the point in the complex shapes on the island top and that silly convoluted little pillar thing. Just more to dust. Again, at least it's bright and airy, but I'd paint at least part of it a happy, creamy, light yellow.

-- Country: Ugh. Claustrophobic. This isn't country, it's dark ages.

-- Industrial: Who wants to face this in the morning? Bring in some beakers and flasks and sterilizing equipment and turn it into a lab of some sort.

But there are lots of elements that I like in the comments. It seems I have run on too long and will have to discuss them in a second post.

I loved the country kitchen, except I wouldn't have labeled it that way. It reminds me of a mountain cabin in the woods. Cozy and quiet.

I voted Traditional since that's my preferred style but I would love the cabinets with dark wood, not white.

Has anyone else followed the link on the country kitchen. I just did and WOW. It's a mountain house outside of Atlanta Ga. Gorgeous place. I want to vacation there, just not in the winter.

The industrial one is amazing too. Not my style but I have to admire what they did. It's in an old warehouse converted into a home in Portland Or. The other two are in Sydney Aus. Very charming homes the Contemporary is a little Pavilion house very cute . The traditional , only shows the kitchen but it every detail. It's lovely I would like to steal some of it for my home.

I voted Contemporary, although I'm not a fan of the kitchen pictured. Its too white and sterile. I like contemporary style made with a mix of materials like warm wood, rough stone (e.g. split-face), stainless steel, glass. I am not a fan of Calcutta or Carrara marble; it makes me think of a hospital or sanatorium.

I think the style of the kitchen should reflect the style of the rest of the home, so this isn't just a kitchen question (or answer).

I like that we can pick and choose portions of each 'style' to create our unique style. I love at least one element from each photo and when combined, it makes a perfect kitchen for me.

Country style, of course. There are a lot of ways to make a home (not only a kitchen) more natural, soft and comfortable for living. Country style and all rustic details as furniture and decor will help a lot. By the way, there are some ways to combine details from different styles. Like on the second picture with modern rustic coffee table.

Too funny, both the traditional and contemporary were my least favorites but they were the most popular. They are too decorative for my taste. If the country kitchen were truly "country" than it might have been my favorite but the photo looks too "faux country" to me. By far my favorite was the industrial kitchen. Is it a bit too slick to be industrial? Still, "Form follows Function". I could think more clearly in that kitchen.

I voted for industrial but it might have been in part because of the awesome industrial kitchen photo you posted, LOL!
