Thank you for sharing. Could you please tell me what was used to seal the soapstone. And does the sealant protect the soft stone from scratches.I am absolutely In love with soapstone but without it being sealed I could not possible put it in my kitchen for the samples I have seen can easily be scratched with my fingernail. So many people don't believe soapstone can be sealed. Can you please enlighten me on this. Thanks
This may not answer your question, but I have been searching soapstone countertops and recently discovered a slab of polished soapstone at a nearby slab dealer. In my opinion, it looks sealed and shiny similar to what honed soapstone looks like after oiling.
The wod used in the upper cabinets look different than the lower cabinets. What kind of wood is used in the lower cabinets?
Where can old iron cookie sheets be found? Also how are the shelves in the range area created?
The flooring is reclaimed Oak. Stain was custom mixed to match a control sample from our library. When working with the reclaimed material, we very rarely end up with a straight formula...things are adjusted to even out the variety in the boards. Good luck with your project!
