Are you quilting this weekend? Jan. 8-10, 2016

My plans for the weekend are to finish the mystery quilt. All my rows are sewn and are ready to be joined together. When it is finished, I want to work on finishing some other UFOs in my sewing room.

I've been working on a Scrappy Mountain Majesties baby quilt. I took Bonnie Hunter's pattern and reduced the original block size from 8.5" to 6.5". I'm sub-cutting the strips at 1.5" instead of 2". This makes the finished blocks 4"x5.5" - perfect for a child/baby quilt. I'm using a WOW for the light and 32 different brights. I'm not sure which layout I'll use yet, maybe the lantern one with a children's border print. That's what I'm up to.

I sure hope to sew. Just not sure what. I have 3 that I'm currently working on. Floating pinwheels: still in block form. That purple thing: needs to have the rest of the blocks sewn together. An incubator cover (girly): needs a border.

My mom turned 90 on Wednesday, so tomorrow we're going to see her to celebrate. :) We are very thankful that she is in relatively good health and still lives at home alone.

I hope to sew on Sunday. I have some of the mystery quilt blocks assembled. I want to get that far and figure out if my original plan will work.

There's a quilt show going on in the Orange Co. Convention Center, which is next door to the hotel where I work. :) Yesterday I sneaked out early and spent a couple hours enjoying myself.

The only thing on my sewing agenda, at the moment, is to finish the January lotto blocks. I have one done; 3 to go. Oh. and I need to finish one of those cool log cabin santa things that I have started. really don't want to put it away unfinished...only the quilting part left to do. Maybe this weekend.

Probably won't get anything going this weekend, but I did some online fabric shopping with the hopes of getting back to the cutting board and at least get January lotto blocks done before the deadline. It's been a long dry spell at the machine and I feel 'Ruby' is getting kinda lonely.

I would like to work on a couple of Lotto blocks. The fabric is ready, now to find the time.

I have been working on quilting all weekend. I finished the double pinwheel top, got batting and backing ready. Had a charity quilt that I got batting and backing ready. My DD came and helped me spray baste the 2 quilts so now I have 4 quilts ready for machine quilting that I do on my sewing machine. Tonight I am reviewing and practicing some quilting motifs.

Started working on the January blocks but then we took down Christmas and that took up my weekend! So. I'll be at my machine tomorrow for some me time!

wow...for a change, actually met my quilting goals for the weekend!! (we won't talk about the condition of the house). Lotto blocks are done for January. finished the log cabin Santa - ready for his new home at my sister's house.
