Treeesa, I'm curious too as this is the backsplash I want and on the website the Sumi-e Izu natural looks way more green. Also noted that these tiles are not 1x1 or 1x6 as stated in the comments . They are indeed 1 x 4. I measured them on the photo here.

Ok, this is weird. If you just search teal backsplash on Houzz, this same picture comes up as you scroll down. It says the size is 1 3/8" by 6" not 1 x 1 or 1 x 4. Don't know why the Rachael Reider comments are saying 1 x 1.

I've actually ordered the tiles, it's 1 3/8 x 4.

I went to the Lunada Bay website and sent them an email to find out who in my area sells these tiles. When I found out who sold them my decorator called and got a sample sent to her to verify the color and then ordered from the local tile place.

Hi Pinkdonut my tiles have come in but they are at my decorators house and I haven't seen them yet. She said they are beautiful though. And I think it's still hard to tell at this point because the front of the tiles are covered. The front of the tiles are held together with the backing. They should be up in about a month though. I'll be sure to post some photos.

What brand and color are they, pinkdonut? They are very pretty! I'm still looking for tile and love this photo but I'm guessing they are pricey and there seems to be so much confusion about the color.

Hi Christine. The tile is from Lunada Bay. The color is Sumi-e Izu Natural. 1.3/8 x 4 inch tiles. I think the price was $25.00 per sf I'll post another photo when the tile is installed in my kitchen.

I am not pinkdonut but they are Lunada Bay tiles. Series: sumi-e, color: Izu. I had my local tile dealer order me a sample. They are around $32 per square foot. Lunada bay has a website where you can see all the different sizes and colors of this. Good luck.

Lucy - thanks for clarifying. Our dealer got me the 6" size. So maybe that's why there is a price difference. Or else they get that extra profit. Seriously, I don't know why they would charge $32 per sq. ft. seeing as no matter what size the tiles are, it's still square feet. Also, I'm looking at the picture of the tile you posted above. Is it 4" or 6? Reason I'm asking is because it looks exactly like my sample in length. The 6" is called the Large brick. Finally, what is the style of your kitchen? This tile was my 1st choice for months, but once we got the new countertop in (black with some movement), I think i'm going to have to move to a more solid color. Our cabinets are also white like the picture Thanks.

HI Gail. I'm pretty sure my tiles are 1 3/8 x 4. I will verify the size and the price. I could have been off a bit on the price. I live part time in Indonesia and my condo that's being renovated is in Miami so I am communicating via email with my designer. I have a very small kitchen. The cabinets are white shaker on the bottom with open white shelves on top. My countertop is a concrete color quartz. Its supposed to be put in Friday. I'll have them take a photo and post it. We are using a light gray grout in the tile.

We had to settle for a grey mix granite with small specks of black in it, and I'm thinking it might not compliment this beautiful tile. I'm bummed. Probably doesn't matter, because even at $25/sf, it would be pretty costly for us. Thank you ladies for all of your awesome communication! Christine, please don't let anything I've said sway you. These are such gorgeous tiles and like I said, they were my first choice. It's just that now that the countertops and cabinets are in, I may be thinking something with less pop and more serenity. Up to this point, every decision has been a piece of cake (cabinets, counter, floors) but I'm really stuck on the backsplash. The one I really like has been discontinued. I have spent hours online and on Houzz looking for something comparable and there's nothing. And now, my husband doesn't want what I like and I don't want what he likes. Aughugh!

Christine, forgot to add that I think your countertop would look great with these tiles. Grey would work really well.

Shades of brown were my first choice in countertop granite, but I didn't like the builder's choices. We would have had to pay more for a pattern I liked. So, grey wasn't what I planned on working with, but I do like it. If we have the funds and my husband agrees ( he did love the tile as much as I do), maybe we can get a sample...now that I know where to go to get them.....at least the company directed me to a retailer, but I would need to see if they have, or can get it.

If a dealer has a sample, then you would be able to buy it through that dealer. Most of the showrooms, however, only have this tile in a sample of 1 x 1. So I had our showroom order a large brick sample of this to see what it would look like. Also, how many square feet do you need? If it's a lot, maybe you can get a discount because of the amount of tile you would be ordering. We need need 80 square feet, so this Lunada Bay tile would have been really pricey (~$2500).

Hi All - We purchased this tile through our local vendor, Tile Showcase: Lunada Bay, IZU Natural, Large Brick, 1-3/8 x 6 though tile lots do vary and things do change over time. This particular project on the coast of Rhode Island was about 4-5 years ago.

Hi Jill. I was not there when they put up the backsplash but I did ask my project manager to make sure the wall was painted white before they started. Not sure if they used a special thin set.

Hi -- this looks amazing! The tile is my 2nd choice (the agate Firenze was my 1st but I think would have too much dark tile). do you know if your tile continues behind the stove (so there will be tile on the wall if stove is replaced)?

I have been in love with this lunada bay tile since first seeing it over a year ago and really want to use it in my kitchen remodel. Anyone have any thoughts about using it in this color scheme? I want to do the dark gray lower cabinets with white uppers to keep from being too dark overall and to visually raise the height since I have very low ceiling. I also want the lower dark cabinets to set off my white farmhouse sink. Would love any suggestions, ideas....this is my first reno

I’m redoing a new condo kitchen and want to use the same backsplash but the bigger tile. and we’re they 6” x ?
