Mondays at work stink so the timing of this couldn't be better. I just received a care packet from Larsi and it has totally made my day! In the coming days I get to experiment with:

Classic Tide HE Powder

All Stainlifter pods

Somat 10 Dishwasher Tabs (you couldn't have known this but I've been dying to try these -- so happy!)

This forum is filled with such sweet, generous people. You're the best! I'll report back once I've had a chance to give these a whirl. THANK YOU!!! xoxoxo

Yep. He's enjoying the cold in Canada. Now I know what I can send him in return - a big box of Chicago winter. :)

LOl..isn't it funny people that live in areas of less than freezing winters want the cold and visa versa....I used to like winter, well for a month or so, now I hate it. Its been calm and pleasently warm in Pa up until a few days ago, temps have ranged in the 50's 60's &70's except for a few days..now January is here and winter is setting in. January and February are such long cold months here. I can't wait for spring and clothes out in the sunshine lol.

Alex...what do you think of the old Classic Tide scent? I really like it but my favorite as far as Tide old classic scents is Clean Breeze..very brisk and herbal.

Cheryl... I did a load tee shirts and everyday-wear last night. I messaged Larsi right away saying I could see why he was "cray cray" for the scent. It really is lovely. The funny thing is, I can't say I recall it! I must not have ever bought the classic Tide powder when it was available. It's slightly perfumed, almost like a subtle men's cologne. I really like it. I will say that, like other Tide products, I felt that for the minimal amount I used it didn't rinse extremely well in my machine. This is a known problem with Samsung FL's and why I have to be selective about my detergents. I might hoard the rest of what he gave me and use it when I have a different (better rinsing) machine someday.

I also had a chance to do a moderately soiled load of dishes with the Somat. My Miele never leaves a trace on anything, even using the eco-friendly Method tabs, so Somat was probably overkill for me. BUT, I'll say that the interior of the machine sparkled. That's no doubt thanks to the phosphates in Somat :) I probably have 5-6 tabs left and will save them for really soiled loads with cookware.

The only thing left to try is the sample of All StainLIft Pods. I have never used detergent pods, or any All product, so this will be new. I don't know if these have oxi in them. I'd like to use them on load of really disgusting kitchen and cleaning rags. If they don't have oxi, I'll just add some pure sodium perc.

Yes add your sodium percarbonate since the ALL pods don't have oxygen bleach. Do you use STPP? IF so I'd add that also just for added boost on really soiled kitchen rags.

Alex...thank you for your reviews...good luck and have fun.

Yep, I use STPP and still have some unmixed that I can add. My "power solution" for whites and kitchen towels up until now has been:

Persil Universal Powder and STPP in a 2:1 ratio + Tide Boost pac

I place 1/3 of the Persil solution in the prewash cup and the rest in the main wash. After the prewash, I throw the Boost pac into the drum for the remainder of an extra long, sanitary cycle. In my many years experimenting without chlorine bleach, this has been the best, bar none. Can't wait to see how the All pods stack up :)

Hopefully the ALL pods will give great results, they do have enzymes however in Europe this wouldn't be concidered a detergent for whites..Mich sent me a boat load of thes ALL Pods and I really like them and will STPP added makes them a heavy duty detergent.

Your Power Solution for whites is quite a workhorse..3 TOL products, someday I will order that Persil Universal Powder.

Let me know how the kitchen towels come out.

Send me your address on FB and I will send you some Persil. I have a ton :)

Oh Alex. Thank you...this is different from Persil Perls??

You're welcome! I believe it's different but I am not sure how. I have always ordered "Persil Universal Powder" online from Amazon. I do see that they also sell "Universal Megaperls," whose box looks almost identical. I'm sure someone here can better speak to the difference between the two (Larsi, Roc, Whirlpool, etc.)

I do believe universal powder and mega perls are different.

    Hi Alex!!

YAY!!! I am so happy my package made your Monday a little brighter! Yes, Classic Tide Original Scent powder smells amazing!! I find it rinses VERY well, so it might be your Samsung washer. Tide liquids, to me, are very hard to rinse, even in the Miele with massively deep and copious rinses!

Somat 10 tabs will clean everything, and they do keep the interior of the machine amazingly clean and shiny.

I found with adding STPP to the all tabs, it makes them SUDS like crazy. I find them to clean brilliantly all (lol) by themselves.

Cold weather....I have loved it since I was a little kid. I used to cover and block the heater vent in my bedroom, and I just love cold, frigid temps. I am not necessarily a wet weather lover, but I love cold, cold, cold!!!

Persil Universal MegaPerls and Persil Universal Powder.....MegaPerls are much, much more concentrated, and you need to use a very small amount. The Universal Powder, you can use more of.

I do not like MegaPerls Universal or the Color version.

Welcome back, Larsi :) And thank you again, you devil.

Had a chance to do a load of button-down shirts last night and thought I'd use one of the All StainLifter pods for for giggles. The shirts weren't overly soiled so I threw in an apron with cooking/baking residue just for a test. Wow! Those little things work. I must admit I was skeptical about pods since dosing is left in the hands of the manufacturer, but there was no sudsing. And the clothes were clean! After two rinses with spin in between, very little scent remains; the scent I did pick up on was pleasant, though.

Right? all pods are kind of phenomenal. I use powders for most things, but I think I love these all pods too!!!

Larsi sent me some of his " original" original tide powder a while back and I kid you not, I stood in the laundry room and just inhaled for a good 10 mins lol! WHY did they change it? :(

mami-so funny! If it aint broke why fix it!! WHY??

Why does P&G do anything? I think they have to change something every so often just to feel innovative. Watch out Cheer. You too shall have fabreeze soon.
