The piece you have is too big---like trying to squeeze into a show that is too small. Try a mirror that fits the back wall with a little bit of wall showing around the mirror. Then put one large object such as a plant or piece of sculpture in front of the mirror.

I would hang it to help show off the height in the room. Add a pop of color to the space with some colorful accent pieces, such as candle holders, containers or a vase. Odd numbers of items usually work better than symmetrical placements of accessories. Here are a few ideas.

I was going to suggest interesting wall sconces on either side of the mirror, on the angled walls; but what you have now looks perfect to me! Great job!

What will the reflections from the mirror look like? It has individual pieces with beveled edges, and it will be facing a corner of the room because the fireplace is on a diagonal. You might find what you see in the mirror distracting. I’d go for artwork that fits on the back wall instead, and use that large shelf on top of the mantel for sculpture or vases on either side.

I would hang a vertical piece of art (slightly narrower than the angled wall) above the mantel. The square piece may work, but needs to be hung, not leaning. Then I would select a fabric, patterned or solid, which goes nicely with the colors in the room, for window treatments on each window and the sliding door. Balloon shades may work on the windows and maybe on the slider area. If you use shades, add narrow drapery panels to “finish” each window. Because the fireplace is white-white, I would have the window treatments include white-white, not creamy white, and the headers on each window and the sliders should match.
