I don't think they will be matchu at all! Sometimes it's hard to see the entire space when focused on a single element or two. This room has tons of interest and character! The options will be endless!!!

I have 9 cats and 2 dogs. I have ivory/beige furniture. Most of the chairs are slipcovered but the ottoman and sofa are in a mingled tweedy type of woven fabric in a cream and beige. It is just fine. Sure it requires maintenance but what doesn't. I happen to like that very light feel of the room. If you want color add it with a Persian rug and a variety of pillows. I do love your blackamoor lamp,

You have lots of dark pieces that are really prominent. The curtain rods and the dining set are enough. I'd forgo the wood on the chairs. It's too much for the room.

I noticed your dog on your couch and this would be one reason not going with ivory (I have ivory and have to keep it covered most of the time due to my dog and cat). As well, either fabric may be off just enough to look like one faded/yellowed. I recommend a medium or dark velvet (very durable) with darker legs to better suit your chairs. Because of eastern influence of these lovely chairs, your room could head slightly in that direction, but still feel warm and cozy based on your choices. Suggest looking at Houzz photos; a couch is a big investment and has to last for years, so be sure you have an overall plan for the room. An overdyed rug (especially for pets) may be one choice, or go with a lighter rug if you prefer. Add complimentary pillows on chairs and couch and try a black rectangle lamp shade for your lamp. I would definitely purchase couch first, as layout may make a difference and recommend non-matching for a more contemporary and interesting look (see 1st picture for the idea). Good luck.

Leelee, I chose those chairs because they will be place where you can see the back of the sofa. Their wooden backs will be visible from the foyer. The room is not an open floor plan it is semi open so the dining room although visible is in a completely separate space. I will upload better pics

Are you set on that couch? I just find the legs and design doesn't compliment your chairs. For example, I think the light blue couch above has the dark legs and look - a bit sleek, Aisan inspired, classic and comfy - like your chairs. R.Hardware is having a sale and there are tons of fabric, stuffing, sizes and depths to chose from.

Maureen, thank you, the chair is not 100 % I can get it in any of the sam moore colors. I have not decided on the color. the chair will be a plantation dark cherry not the black.

Maureen, thank you. I have switched from that sofa. I think this one may be a better match for the chairs. I won't do R. Hardware because they are made in china. Sam Moore sofas are made in USA. I maybe wrong but I think sam Moore is higher on the furniture food chain, so it should last longer.

START WITH THE RUG FIRST. Then select the fabrics for the sofa and chairs.

There are lots of variables for the chairs, and depending on the fabric and the finish you select, your Sam Moore chair can appear quite different. I did select one of the fabrics labeled Ivory, which is a nice neutral selection, but maybe it's time for a chair with a bolder pattern? Here are some options.

Love your vintage Blackamoor lamps. They would IMO be so much more striking with a color shade either black or teal fabric or glossy black paper shade. See some examples below. Quite a unique find for the room.

Very interesting to see many thoughts and ideas! Hope this is not MORE CONFUSING! Knowing whether you will place and leave sofa and chairs or if you like to move pieces from time to time would be an important factor in determining not only the frames but also the fabrics. Knowing how often you want to change these INVESTMENT pieces, you may want to consider this in the decision-making process as well. How long can you live with your selections? I always like to know this in my work as the rugs, lamps, accents and paint are often much less painful to change in the future!

BTW- The inspirational lamps are amazing!

I love those chairs. They have a Chinese chippendale type of back, so you could accessorize with some Asian-influenced items.

A Sam Moore couch that I thought might be nice with your chairs' style is below - feels more Aisan inspired, modern and the legs are dark to better compliment your chairs. I would pick up on the blue in your lamp (suggest black rectangle shade - I have a similar lamp and found that to work the best). The fabric below is Sam Moore's and is poly and linen, which will have a lovely texture. A natural fibre rug would feel modern and airy as well. Finish off with great pillows and you should have a room that is elegant yet warm.

JoanJean - if you feel the same as Beverley, there are quite a few models that don't have the raised sides also. Hopefully you were planning on viewing in person and sitting on the different couches and going through their fabric chocies to touch/feel and discuss the qualities. I have had 3 custom couches in which I could decide on stuffing, fabric, and wood stain and this really helped me decide. Also think about couches with 2 vs 3 cushions on the back and seating, as this makes a difference as well.

I love English roll arm sofas but I thought they were too traditional with the chairs and Sam Moore did not have any. I am also not really a fan of asian decor. I like traditional. I love the combination of fabric both you and BeverlyFla have put together. Amazing! Which color goes best with my linen white walls and muted gold drapes? I have not picked out a rug as yet.

Since you showed a blue couch originally, perhaps stick with blue and it works well with gold and linen (see room below). You could also bring in some brass to compliment the gold drapery. You seem to know what you want and I'm sure it will be lovely no matter what couch you select.

joanjean1, would you mind if we start fresh now that you have identified some of your preferences..............you are a 'classic tailored' type of client, and I think the wood frame chair you selected originally, though unique, might not please you over time.

Maybe a sofa and chair like these below from Sam Moore (not necessarily in these colors) would be more to your liking. The style though classic is a bit more contemporary because of the details and absent the welting. The chairs swivel and glide, and having 'motion' chairs in a living room can be comforting.

Going for a tailor, classic yet contemporary look for your room like these below, might be just what your lovely room needs.

Do you think that the chairs in image 3 are a better match than the Sam Moore chairs with the exposed wood backs. I prefer the cross design in pic 3 but I could not find those chairs.

Since your wall is white and your drapes are cream, I would
suggest using brighter colors for the your rags and pillows. Is it still
possible to change your sofa? You might wish to change the tone of your sofa to
colored ones. Blue will probably work.

Thank you in style Modern. I think you are correct. I have to start all over. I think what I will do is chose a color that is in the painting and the lamps and make that the couch color. Advice from my color specialist. I have been looking at some navy blue sofas; the color works since I have 2 dogs. thank you.
