Well, the fact that you have cut the stems off already, it seems you have no option but to pot them up and hope for the best! Please add your country, zone etc after your name via your profile page to let us help you better.....

OK, the deed is done, so pot them up carefully as you will find their leaves can drop off easily. Use some gritty mix that will drain readily, don't use a lot of peat, it will hold onto the water and as you seem to have had a problem with watering causing root rot, you don't want that to happen again do you! Use slightly a damp mix and place the stems in, take off the lower leaves to leave a bare stem to plant, you can poke the fallen leaves in the same pot, they will root given time, and make the pot fill out more quickly. Don't water again for a week or so, till you see new growth and are sure they have rooted....no roots, no need to water. Keep out of very cold temps or direct sun till growing.

Thank you so much for your kind reply! I am living in Missouri, 63110, US. it is winter time...the roots were drying, and turned to brownish yellow...but the top leaves are still juicy and green...So I cut all fresh stem with leaves, and put them in a pot without anything...Do I need put gritty mix into the pot right now? or I wait for the new roots coming? I am so hoping it will survive...and bring good luck for my mom...Thank you very much again!
