Home Decorators Collection cabinets

Wondering if anyone has used the Home Decorators collection kitchen cabinets from Home Depot? How do they compare with IKEA?

I am wondering about this too. I priced them when they where having a sale and they were very similar in price to Ikea. But there are virtually no reviews on them anywhere. I found just a couple of reviews after digging - but they were about the same cabinets sold under a different name. They weren't good reviews either. I opted not to try them.

I'm not finding much for reviews either. Anyone else use the cabinets?

When you compare anything to Ikea, be sure that you are looking apples to apples, especially WRT the hardware and inner fittings.

Agree with Sushipup. Also look at Formaldehyde and other VOCs. Ikea limits these due to European regulations which must other manufacturers don't unless is it a marketing advantage.

    Good luck!

Not cabinets, but we bought a piece of furniture from Home Decorators. Terrible - came from China, packaged in a zillion styrofoam pieces which were crumbled everywhere and we had to vacuum every piece as we unpacked, none of the holes lined up, missing parts, had to get creative to assemble it. The finish was poor quality, and chipped. We ended up giving it away after a year. I would never in a million years consider their cabinets over Ikea - which has a great warranty, quality Blum hardware, and has so many people using it.

I just bought a microwave shelf cabinet to make our kitchen more usable until we can do a full remodel. It will mount under an existing 12" wall cabinet. The finish is pretty thin in places and almost non-existent in one corner. It will work for now, but I wouldn't purchase a whole kitchen of this brand.

monika2024, we're probably going with conestoga too. yours look great! what door style is that and which white did you go with?

Thanks! designer white ( i like them stark white though) with madison door style. I love this company- any problems and they send you a new piece immediately. Only catch is putting them together can be a pain, but so worth the price and the full customization. I'm doing my basement as the same time and will go with them for everything.

PS Jim, from CabinetJoint (whom i used) has a thread somewhere on here about the different whites from conestoga that are comparable to Sherwin Williams- which I believe they use- but is more of an industrial type paint.

This might be the CabinetJoint thread that monika2024 is referring to: Conestoga Popular White Paint Colors
