The wood siding is Western Red Cedar siding in a channel profile. The stain is a natural clear stain from CBR Products (Broda) which is a low-VOC, locally manufactured product. To answer @Sutherland Construction 's question belatedly: Knowing that any natural wood product requires regular maintenance, we used it minimally, and in simple stripes that are easy enough to sand and re-stain as needed. Had it not been maintained it would probably have faded significantly, but the owners were aware of that when we made the decision and committed to semi-regular restaining.
