boys bathroom help

I want to paint my boys' bathroom. I am plannig on framing the mirror as well as probably removing the towel bar. They are 14, 11, and 8. It is also the bathroom that our guests use when we have company. Any suggestions to make this bathroom look better. I love "Fixer Upper" on HGTV and am into that style. Any help is really appreciated.

Always select inspiration piece first then choose wall color from there, ie: fabric, wall art, etc.

Hi. Not all of us know the "Fixer Upper" show on HGTV so perhaps you need to explain the style you're looking for, and better yet, can you supply some inspiration photos from the Houzz photo library? That would give a big boost to our suggestions. Personally, I think the bright green is a little glaring and could be toned down to make a more sophisticated look. What color tiles are in the shower? Does the room have some blank walls for art? I think we need a little more direction. Thanks.

I would use a blue grey colour for the wall and keep the white shelving units to match the toilet, tub,& sink then add some creamy chocolate or grey add ins throughout

On fixer upper they like distressed country chic..... You could paint your cabinets white.Update hardware and change the faucet. New shower curtain . I like the one another commenter posted. New wall color.

On fixer upper she's likes letters . So maybe swop out the pictures for letters that say bath or something. Maybe a new Kleenex box cover.

The towel bar is silver. I am planning on just painting and new decor. If I take the towel bar down what should I put there? I am thinking hooks, but is too young looking for my kids who are getting older? Any shade of grey/blue paint color anyone would recommend? I was planning on keeping the shower curtain, but I am not apposed to getting something different. I also want to take the mirror down and get something that is framed.

If you are planning on keeping shower curtain and towels:
Find a blue paint color in shower curtain to paint entire room
Take down towel rack and shelf over toilet
Find 3 hooks that boys like ( could find hooks with letters of first name) Hang each boy's towel on hook
Find new pictures for white frames (could look at geometrical scrapbook paper like design of posted shower curtain or find pictures in magazines, calendars, books, or buy prints at Michael's etc. (The ones in frames are too feminine). If the white is too stark consider spray painting frames- navy?
Hang two pictures over toilet and one at end of counter by door
Move basket of tissue to corner of vanity
Put 3 -4 rolled or folded wash clothes/ hand towels on vanity for guests to use
Put rug in front of vanity
Consider finding clock for room ... Since 3 brothers are sharing room. ( could hang over center towel hook)
Buy the pre-cut framing for mirror at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc
Or consider having a glass company instal beveled trim as a frame

Thank you for your ideas. I am okay with getting a different shower curtain and towels, but didn't know if what I have would still look okay with different paint color. Would hooks look bad if they didn't gave the initials above them. Any ideas what to put on the wall above hooks?

Hooks would look fine without letters. You could put a shelf like the one you have , a clock, pictures, quotes (PB has 3 "Wash your hands" etc)

3 boys? Tile the heck out of the place and then worry about decor!

I love the blue gray idea, but my son't room is right across the hall and is a blue/gray color. My other son's room is across the hall as well and I am planning on painting SW silvermist on the bottom of his wall. I am just afraid of too much blue. I am going to change out the shower curtain, so I am open to more opinions. Would you go with a greige?
