Thank you for your response. Can you provide me with more details? I forgot to mention that we were interested in the Natural Raw copper and not a prefinished patina. I understand that the prefinished patinas are a lot more work than the natural raw copper.

I am considering a raw copper hood from Coppersmith...haven't decided yet, so I can't answer your question. But Ryan did some explaining for me and suggested that I wax the raw copper to help prevent marks...otherwise it will show handprints if anyone touches it. Not sure about how a sink would be affected....would be curious to hear other feedback!

Can anyone else provide feedback about a sink or hood from this company?

I ordered a raw copper hood from World Coppersmith about 2 months ago. I will be happy to update once we receive it and again once it's installed!!

Melinda - Thank you so much for all of the valuable information you shared plus the pictures. Rachiele (very beautiful) was the first copper sink I had found but it is out of our budget.

Our World Coppersmith copper hood is installed and we LOVE it. We move into our new home tomorrow and will then tackle cleaning the hood. We wanted the bright raw copper look, and Ryan (the owner of World Coppersmith) gave us detailed instructions on how to clean the hood so that it looks fresh. It is currently all finger-printed from installation, but Ryan warned us of that from the beginning so it wasn't a surprise. I will post more photos once it is cleaned up.

ericaoh13 - Thank you so much for remembering to update my posting with your narrataive and picture. Your hood and kitchen looks lovely!!!! How exciting for you to move in to your new house tomorrow! I, too, ordered a hood from World Coppersmith (Alaskan style) I just received the liner so I should be receiving it within the next couple of weeks or at least that is what they told me. I can't wait to see it!!!

Update - we ended up going with a Blanco Silgranit sink in Metallic Gray. It will be installed next week. I decided the copper sink was a bit too crazy for me. I loved the idea of how it would be constantly changing. After looking at many pictures, I decided that I didn't love the copper sink in all of its different stages.

Pilatesmom3 - I know your post is a couple of years old, but like you we have been considering a copper sink that is within budget, and then the Blanco Silgranit sink in Metallic Gray as a second option. Can you please let me know if you are happy with your choice, and provide some pix? Thanks!

Jora - We are now going on 2 years with our Metallic Gray sink. We are still very happy with it! It looks like the day it was installed. I do wipe it down at the end of the day using my soapy sponge. I will give the sink an extra scrub if food/liquid that has a staining tendency has been in the sink. Also, we use the Blanco 221-010 Stainless Steel Sink Grid to help protect the bottom from any scratches and wear and tear. Our only problem with the sink was with the black drain ring we installed. The black chipped off so easily so over time, we have been working on removing all of the black to reveal the stainless steel ring.

pilatesmom3 - Thank you for taking time to respond and post pictures. Your sink is beautiful! Your sink has been one of our two top choices, but our quartzite is much lighter with beige veining and I'm not sure how this will sit against it. We love the fact, that much like your review above, this sink is indestructible and easy to clean. We are thinking maybe getting it in a brown color to potentially be more cohesive with our kitchen.

Jora - have you been able to find a sample of the different colors of the sink to hold up next to your quartzite? If you can't find a store locally, you can get free samples from Blanco. I laid my sink samples next to/on my granite sample for few days to see what I liked based on the different lighting factors of the day/night. I would love it if you would update with your final decision.

Pilatesmom ou are so amazingly helpful. I'd thought about how I wished I could put samples next to our stone to make our decision, but never thought about how I could make it happen. If I'm not mistaking, it sounds as if your stone was at your house (installed?), and you brought the samples to test against it? Our purchased slabs are being stored at the place we purchased them (wedged behind other purchased stones), so we don't have the luxury of seeing it against different lighting in the kitchen. :( :(

The good news is that the employees at the store where we purchased our slabs are super nice, and we can always ask them to pull our slab out....and we know a gentleman at a close by store that has a sheet of the samples for the Blanco's on hand that, I'm sure, will allow us to borrow for a couple of hours.

We are in the midst of modifying our kitchen island (hubby is doing the work), and we will be at a stand still for the install of the countertop until we pick our sink out! :(. The decision is even made harder since we've heard that once you install a sink on natural stone (granite/quartzite/etc.), then you are pretty much stuck with it for years!

No, our stone was not installed at the time of sink purchase. We just were using a sample piece on the old counter to see what sink we liked. Glad you are able to "visit" your stones easily and found some samples to bring over to the stones. Another factor to consider is when you can get your sink. I had ordered mine months in advance with a plumbing supply shop so it would be here in plenty of time for the install. Turns out that they forgot to order my sink!!!! When they went to actually order it, it turned to be on a back order from the factory all across the US. I was then left frantically calling around to see who might have my sink in their inventory. Talk about stress. I finally found one but they wouldn't sell to the general public. I had to sweet talk my granite people to order and pick it up for me so we could stick to our install schedule. As you know, it is very hard to function without the kitchen! My hubby and I did our entire 1st floor renovation ourselves, too. Lots of work but well worth it in the end. My hubby is awesome at wood working. We extended our island so he built another whole side of base cabinets under the wider island!!!! Lots of storage for me to fill! :-)

Also, I love how large my sink is. I use to have 3 separate sinks. I am able to leave my dish rack in the sink so it keeps my counters clear of stuff.
