New Build....Need Lighting Help!

Hello...My husband and I are in the process of building a new home and I am having problems figuring out the lighting for the Entry, Kitchen (pendants over bar) and the nook. From the entry you can see the kitchen, living room and nook...so its all one big open space......I have 10 foot ceilings and there will be a dry stacked rock fireplace going from floor to ceiling. I will have a 9 foot bar in the kitchen and we have chosen Bianco Antico for the granite with medium to dark stain...also all wood floors.

Ok, so my question is this...My husband bought 3 Pottery Barn rustic glass bell shaped pendant lights ( the small ones) for over the bar but I have no idea how to tie other lighting in with those since it is a open floor plan with 10 foot ceilings...I suggested the Large glass bell from pottery barn to go over the nook table but he has been looking at the drum shaped lighting and likes the one from Capital lighting called "Midtown"..Will insert pictures....I have loved the process of building up until now and am a true believer that the lighting stores were created by the devil!!!!!.....Sooo Any input or ideas would be highly grateful... Thanks,P

I like those choices together. I think the larger bell with the three smaller ones would look too matched.

I agree with Calidesign, you don't want to have the same bell light over the counter and table. The drum shade would look good with the bell shaped lights and would create some additional interest to the room.

The light I inserted would also be a good option for your home.

To light your fireplace talk to the lighting showroom and ask what they would have to wash the rock. Keeping your lighting very close to rock it will create shadows and look stunning!! I will try to find a pic and insert for what I mean.

Got my descriptions wrong I think it should be glazing.

YouTube has a good video called Lighting a wall. Wall washing vs wall glazing. By edge lighting.

The perfect fixtures will completely elevate the perception of your space. The drum shade fixture is a perfect option. It's important to remember that just like anything else, all your fixtures should represent your own personal style. Don't get caught up in playing by the rules. Pick something you like that will enhance your space and works with the way you actually live.

Chase, thank you for your pictures that helps me a lot!...I actually picked some of those fixtures and my husband told me to keep looking...LOL..but I like them and may still be an option...I also like the drum fixture but was wondering if it would look to big and heavy for the small space? Also if i go with the drum what should I use in the entry for my light fixture and same for the chandelier if i go with one of those?

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a foyer light fixture that would work with the drum light fixture... Also if I didn't use the Bell pendants what other ones would you put with everything?....Ugh! this is hard!...I have thought about the industrial looking pendants... any thoughts?..

I go by the rule of metal color. I try to stay transitional for my taste, but looks like you are doing rustic....stay rustic, same metal tones and it will be beautiful.
