I for one will not beat up on you for that decision. So many times with age the wood does take on an ugly orange tone. I do know that Benjamin Moore has a nice white with a gray tone called Ballet White. Take a look at their 2016 colors, They have a couple that would work in your space.

Please go onto a local classified site and offer it for free, or approach a local ReStore to donate this wonderful Cherry floor you intend to remove. Such a waste, but at least this way it will not end up in a landfill as it likely will currently. Regards.

I agree your proposed changed will look lovely and will suit the room well.
BM has a new 'color of the year' called Simply White. I have not seen it yet but expect it to be different from their White Dove. I chose Behr's Ultra White for my kitchen and sunroom and have been very pleased. It is a warm white without yellow undertones, no gray undertones and is not chalky. It also doesn't change color throughout the day and looks good in night lighting.

Do not use WHITE! It is cold and glaring. Use a softer off white with a warm undertone. You want you house to feel comfortable and all the materials to work together, white just makes everything contrast.
