Exciting question about toliet location

Should this toilet be positioned as such or be located at the northwest corner pointing south?

I'm thinking when you get out of the shower you're going to want that space.

For greatest space, I'd locate the WC against the top wall, facing the opening.

Where it is drawn is the only place it should not be.

Hi JDS, any reason it should not? I'm assuming from a walking path perspective?

Where it is drawn is in the way of entering the space and using the tub and it is too far from a side wall for a grab bar or a TP holder. Put it in the corner with its center 18" off one of the walls. I suppose I would rather look at the front of the toilet than the side when entering so put the tank against the far wall unless it is shared with a bedroom.

positioning more in the corner, facing south, allows decent ability to get in from the side if temporarily handicapped / using some assistance to walk, etc. move it.

I had thought about the grab bar as well as this would be the only accessible bath, less the recommended turning radius.

Master WIC is to the north.

Ron,
Yes you enter through the door, ped stink to the left and linen to the right. Then walk through the arch and you have the toilet and tub.

My oldest dd's city home is 17' wide.

I was there last weekend trying to give my 1 yr old granddaughter a bath in a bathroom with the toilet and tub arranged exactly like your drawing. I was on my knees and couldn't even fit between the two fixtures. I thought..." What idiot arranged this bathroom?", as I tried to position myself sideways on the floor all the while trying to manage a toddler.

anyway, good reason not to build your bathroom like the pic ;-)

Based on my current home 32" between tub and toilet is a good amount of space but wouldn't go much less.

I originally had it placed it in the drawing to allow more room from when you get out for a shower and if you are bathing kids.

If I turn it vertically as shown in the real image there will be 30" (toilet @ 17" C/L) between tub and toilet so it started to push the limit for space I wanted to have between the head of the tub and toilet.
