Wouldn't paint. The cabinets look lovely. Too many dark heavy colours and that's why all looks dull and heavy. Change the wall colour in the kitchen area only, and add undercabinet lighting. Add one more colour to go with the orange, like yellow with red, blue. Get some nice pots, plates to display on top of the kitchen. Change cushions of the sofa to more lively, lighter colour. See colour combo attached. Introduce your home to more colours! There is enough of brown and orange :)
