Some vessel sinks work better than others. The biggest problem is that water often splashes outside the sink area. However, from what I can tell, the one you are looking at is bigger than many I've seen. With an under mount, you can just wipe the water back in. Not much harder with vessel sink unless it has a very high rim, but yo have to wipe water up with a sponge.

For myself, I like to have every sink and faucet in the house be a bit practical as well as pretty. There are times when one of my daughters is hogging the upstairs bathroom and another will use the powder room - so I have a practical but pretty sink - you can even wash your hair in it:) I can fill a small bucket - clean the bathroom with ease.
