I think there is a difference, ivory is more green, off white is like white and tan mixed, and creamy white is basically a deep white.

All paint colors have an undertone that will show differently depending upon the light. Creamy, normally has more yellow while off white has a hint of brown added to the mix. Cool whites may have blue or gray undertones and from your samples you will see peach or pink in other "whites." I always test all colors in the home in which I'm working to see which shade looks best for the client. Be sure and consider how the color changes morning, noon and evening! You can also change the shading by using different types of light bulbs. Please, no fluorescent!!!!

When you come to think about it, it really doesn't matter if it's called creamy white, off white or ivory, as it's the undertones in each that will make the difference in color selection. One is not more fashionable than another and its labeling doesn't provide any clarity, for instance the creamy whites you show might make a room feel pink. There is an interesting video about how House & Home agreed that BM Simply White was the white/color of the year and they had a panel comparing/discussing other whites having more grey, beige, etc. So even "white" can be added to your list, but not sure they are buzz words - I think people just fall back to how they were brought up and what term they are familiar with.

I think of off-white as umbrella term for colors that are close to white, which includes ivory and cream. Ivory is just that, the color of ivory. Usually I see very slight yellow tints called ivory, whereas varying stronger ones are cream. But I suppose you can call a color anything you want.

I think people use the term to describe their room bc it sounds yummy and pleasing. Creamy white tells us nothing. I much prefer -- ivory, off white, cool white, warm white etc. I think "creamy white" sounds like it looks good, so the phrase is oft used
