I want to make fabric seat cushion covers for my existing sofa (man-made white leather) to make it cozy and to cover the not-white-anymore leather. The wood floor is a white-washed grey. The TV cabinet (incomplete) on the side will have taupe color doors.

1. Should I change the rug to a lighter color (it is kind of matching the picture on the wall though)?

2. Should the sofa match the rug or the floor color?

3. Should I use solid color or anything beige or pastel?
