From what I can see in your pics, it appears your kitchen is behind your green couch that faces the wall? You have enough visual solid color (the sofa) to break up the busy counter and area rug.

If it were me (because I like natural and soft shades) I would go with a sisal rug and for an extra punch of color, add some wonderful pillows that have all the colors of your room, so it feels tied together.

I love your sofa and chair. I'll be getting a green sofa soon and will use orange as an accent. I love the Dai Ikat pillow. I hope my current oriental rug works--it has may colors including orange and green. A sisal rug would look good but walk on it before you buy. I like the look but Sisal hurts my feet. Please post photos of finished room.

Wool requires minimal maintenance, vacuum 4 times a month as long as there isn't any unusual amounts of dirt or dust.

Here are a few more options. Synthetic fibers. Rugs can be used indoor or outdoor. Easy to clean and not expensive.

If you like the look of a natural rug like sisal, but as mentioned want more softenss, a mix of wool, cotton and hemp could be a consideration.

First vs the second for sure. It's only my taste when I recommend a smaller, more simple pattern though, as I like the art and pillows to bring in the bling. I tell my daughter (and remind myself) that if you don't absolutely love something when you buy it, you never will - if this first one excited you, then you should get it.
