I guess you could do this i think some consideration has to do with the style of the table if it has simple legs it should be finr.

You need to find tables that will set flush against each other. Look for flat sides and no overlap on the top piece. I think this picture is one table but shows how two smaller, simpler tables will work. Bookcases are another good option.

You can do a 72" and show some sofa on the ends. Go to Wayfair.com and type in consoles and width of 72-80" They have quite a few.

Thank u sooo much! I haven't used wayfair so this will be the first! I'm looking for a white ottoman that I can use as a coffee table (but can be used to sit on too) in this space. Any suggestions? I'm going for white cause were getting a white built in where the hole is currently at thank u all again sooo much!

Wayfair has a large selection to pick from. If you're looking for additional seating I would do cubes. You can push four together for that large ottoman look, separate them when you need extra seating or want to put your feet up. You can get them with flip trays for snacks and drinks and storage for throws. These examples aren't for color purposes, just to show different features. I wouldn't pick white for these. You could add some color and/or pattern.
