Need help identifying my plants

Just bought a house in the mountains east of downtown San Diego. Have a few bushes i'd like to transplant. I believe the bushes on each end are bougainvillea. But, the middle plant is different. It has red stems with oval shaped leaves that the red carries over into.

In the first image you can see all three plants. It's kind of difficult at first to see with the tree in the yard in the background. The second image is a close-up of what i believe is bougainvillea. The third image is a close-up of the center bush i'm talking about.

Also, if anyone has information about when's a good time to transplant these three bushes or best methods in doing so, please share! I think this is going to be a big job for myself.

I believe you're right with the assessment of the first one being a bougainvillea. I'm pretty certain the second one is a rose.

I don't think the bougainvillea would transplant very well, but you could try it. The rose can be pruned back and transplanted now, or before it gets too hot.

Prune plants before transplanting so the leafy part is in balance with the among of roots you are able to dig out. Plants lose moisture through their leaves (transpiration). It's already hot, so wait until it cools down a little and the February temps. get back to normal. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a little more rain.

The Bougainvillea will die sine they don't like their roots messed with at all... even when planting anew. If you don't want them where they are then you will have to just dig them out and toss.

Wait a year before digging everything in your yard up.

If you really want to do that- cut them all down to stumps. Then dig out and replant the stumps. They should all regrow if you make sure they are watered regularly.
