I used them twice as Mitch had sent them to me. Agree they clean well and the scent is wretched. I'd need a really huge, filthy load to use another one but I'm saving it just in case. I have them stored (with the other pods) in an old Talenti gelato container because otherwise I can't breathe in the laundry room.

My laundry room (over crawl space) is 55F this am. It's 23 outside. I've hot the undercab lights on and a space heater running when needed. In the winter, laundry makes me shiver LOL!

I purchased a couple of small bags of the F&C pods when they were on sale as I've been in a bit of a pods/packs mood recently, but my issue is finding loads to use them on - I normally wash everything with a prewash, but with pods that's not really an option... So it's pretty much just towels. I will probably be experimenting with Extended cycles with no prewash in the near future.

Ya Roc the Tide pods are horriably scented that's why I like the scent free ones, same 5 enzymes minus the scent.

The Tide F&C Pods appear to be in stock at my local Target. Maybe I'll pick some up when I'm there this weekend. Do you find they work better than the All StainLifter pods?

Actually yes, Alex, for more heavy stains I do find they work better.

Let me say, for normal laundry needs the ALL pods are great, but if you need some extra oomph for stain removal you can't beat a product with 5 enzymes.

I forgot to mention when I said Tide pods have the most enzymes in a US detergent that the Persil Caps also have 5 enzymes.

Alex I think P&G makes a scent free boost pod.

They do smell very chemical except for the 4 in 1 Febreze Refreshing Rain or something Rain I forget. To me it has the best scent I have smelled of any pod detergent but thats just me.

Yeah -- when my current stash of scented Boost pods is all used up all buy the F&C next time. Won't make that mistake again. I can look past the smell of almost anything as long as it actually works.

I got a small bag of F&C ones to try and they work really well. I was really proud of myself as I got 16 pods for around $1.50 with my $3 tide coupon.

Anyone know If Tide Free Pods come in large tubs? I can only ever find the bags of 31. I usually reserve these for my kiddo with asthma but after talking about them I decided to use them in a load of color tees shirts...I used 2 pods (standard machine) no boosters, no stpp and no FS. Everything came clean and soft, with a lovely clean scent. Sometimes I forget how much I like these guys. I had stopped using them months ago and was using the ALL free pods, the regular ones not the ones that say Oxi, but those were turning my boys whites, (whispers..dingy) maybe because there not really a whites detergent, but regardless the Tide free has more enzymes. ..and no chemical scent..I could have sworn they had a chemical scent in the past. Now they smell like bar soap that lost its scent if that makes sense, very pleasent.

Larsi I know you like scented, but I think you would like these and if FS is used you would still have scent. I'm going to use them in a load of jeans in a few minutes. Lol

Yes. I was just at Target this morning and can confirm they have the big tubs of Tide Detergent pods, including F/C variety. They also have Larsi's beloved Victory Sport BOOST pacs, which were previously not available in stores (I believe). One of the end caps had a display of the All PowerCore pods but I didn't pick up any -- I got out with just some Tide F/C Detergent pods and another bag of Cascade Platinum pacs. Pretty restrained, I must say!

A load of whites is currently washing with 1 Tide F/C detergent pod and 1 Tide BOOST pod (original scent). I'll have to do an extra rinse with some vinegar just to kill some of that awful smell. I have about 10 of those Boost pods left. I'm committed to using them up but can't wait to replace with F/C or Victory Sport.

Alex let me know what you think of the Tide F&G pods. With their 5 enzymes they really are power pacs. ..if your able to open your door during wash cycle..try smelling them in action lol.

As far as the powercores, IMO your not missing anything, the only thing they have going for them is the scent but that's IMHO.

I did want to go to Target today but hubs pulled a slick one on me and took the past 3 days he's was to have off and worked..that's ok I like him out of here LOL..he's retired but continues to work. He gets off at 4.30 I could still go but its an hour drive and were getting snow..so prolly not.

Remember Alex there's no oxy in those Tide Free Pods.

Forgot to add I went into Kmart a few days ago and they had one box of Tide Vivid White Powder with my favorate discontinued scent behind all the Tide/Bleach boxes..than I found a clearance rack there with one box of old scent Tide, Larsi's favorite. Yes I bought them both. Wish I had an extra room that I could put wall shelves up and place all my detergents on lol...but my detergent closet only has one shelf so I have everything stacked on the floor, last night hubs told me he will put ceiling to floor shelves in, I'm excited about that lol.

Thanks Mama. I can't comment on the smell of the F/C because I also added a Tide BOOST (original scent) pod. You know how those smell! But I have one of those loads of whites that has a few embarrassing articles in it that I didn't notice were yellowing until I got a few new v-necks. When I started putting the laundry piles together this morning it was so obvious. I even added an extra scoop of pure sodium perc. hoping to brighten then up. I'm running a sanitary cycle which will finish around 160F and is almost 2 hours long.

Remember Alex new white shirts are heavily dosed with OB's to make them literally glow..lol

Mama -- they worked well. I can't yet judge the Tide F/C Detergent pods on their own because I did spike with the Boost pac and some extra sodium perc. for this extra bad load of whites, but they came out dazzling. Other than their awful scents, my chief complaint about Tide for many years is that I find it to rinse poorly in my machine. Not those pods! The wash water never got overly sudsy (it was still slippery to the touch), and the first rinse was almost clear. I still did 3 more rinses to get rid of the Boost fragrance, but two rinses would have been adequate for the F/C pod on its own. I will continue experimenting with them on heavier loads without any additives. I think the enzyme cocktail is good, so far.

Glad to hear that Alex...yes I boost all non whitening detergents also if I'm using them on whites...there's a difference in clean and stain free and whitening..I have hea rd a few people go from say Tide with Bleach to a non whitening detergent and say its no good because things are getting dingy..in otherwords we can't pit a Oxi detergent against a non Oxi detergent on whites and judge how well they whiten. Lol am I making sense?

I also noticed minor suds using two pods although my water felt conditioned. My rinse is always clea r and feels clear with these boys. I did another load of jeans with the Tide F&G Pods and no FS..clean, with a clean scent and soft...I've rediscovered how much I like these in family laundry. Even Amiees arm pits on her shirts smell clean, not a trace of BO odor left behind and that's amazing as she sweats more than a body builder LOL...oh she just might kill me haha

So these work well in a FL machine? I haven't tried them because I think it's too much soap. The small loads in my FL get a teaspoon of soap. Can I cut the pod in 1/2?

Scott...cutting a Tide pod in 1/2 would be a disaster. One pod in a full load, in a FL is fine. Just do not do a small or light load!

...and Pawprint, I think 1 tsp. of detergent in a FL is not enough to get your clothes clean, and keep your machine clean. I use 1-2 TBS. of detergent in my FL.

I tried the F&C pods in my HE top loader and they do a really nice job. Only used one in each of my 5 loads.

Clothes smell clean and fresh.

Greeny..I'm hapoy to hear you had success with the Tide F&G pods. I know what you mean about the clothes smelling fresh, I really do love this detergent. Did you use FS? And if not did you notice a softness?

I use white vinegar for FS, clothes have been soft.

Larsi, dosing for my FL is interesting. Lately I use Ariel which is non HE, so I cut back to 1 teaspoon. Also my loads are small and never very dirty. If I use the quick wash I have to use 1 teaspoon as the quick wash doesn't do a full speed spin inbetween wash & rinse.

I am able to use more detergent on my whitest white setting, but that tide pod might do me in.

I'd like to hear about more FL users that have tried these F&G Pods in regards to suds.

Don't have a FL, but if I use one pod-/tide F/G labeled he turbo on a load of lightly soiled clothes I get too many suds but the water does not feel slippery. I do have soft city water. I do add borax to help it out some. No way would I use two pods unless my hubs rolled in a grease pit working on one of the cars.

I also get more suds than I'd expect since it's designated as he turbo. I hope there isn't residue building up.

I ran to the store today and found the big container of Tide G&G Pods, 81 pack and I still have three 31 packs unopened..I love these.

Bea..I envy you only needing to use one...I also have soft water and could never use just one on a full load. Since you get suds using one yet your water isn't conditioned I'd stay away from them. I know I get some suds using two, but that's to be expected in a TLer, and some suds in a TLer are acceptable, at least for me. I think it can be problematic dosing even in a TLer at times because the agitation can whip the suds up even if the waters not conditioned enough. Dont get me wrong I don't like a suds cake daily LOL, but some suds are just part of having a TLer.

I continue to like the Tide F/C pods. I've used them almost exclusively the last few days except for some work clothes I washed in Vintage Tide HE just so I could smell it on myself all day today, lol.

Tonight I did a load of bedding (queen top/bottom sheets, pillowcases and thin duvet cover) on the Sanitize cycle with one F/C pod. I had more suds with this than I did any others over the weekend, but the rinses were clear. I had one stain on the duvet cover from a muddy paw, and it was completely gone. The sheets were bright, clean, and soft to the touch. Right now I have a mixed load going with a heavily stained pillowcase for a throw pillow. Look forward to seeing how that comes out.

Thanks, Mama! I had to run out and buy some today :) My first load is washing with them right now. I've got a shirt in there that I know has coconut oil stains that I'm hoping it gets out. I'll be sure to update!

I have some but haven't used them yet. I used them before with good results however.

Update on using Tide F/C detergent pods. Earlier this week I had done a load of heavily soiled kitchen towels, including one that I had deliberately stained with tomato sauce. I raved to Larsi how well the pod cleaned (perfectly, in fact) and how happy I was to have a scent-free detergent for kitchen linens. Unfortunately, I let it slip that I had used 1 tsp (teaspoon!) of Persil universal powder in the prewash, so he doubted the cleaning efficacy of the Tide and said he wouldn't be convinced until another experiment was done. SO! I've done it again:

Same load size as last time: filthy kitchen towels with one deliberately stained with tomato sauce as a test. NO persil powder as a prewash. Sanitary cycle on my Samsung using only the Tide F/C pod and a profile* wash. Perfect results, and clean rinsing. I've never been a huge fan of Tide but the enzyme load in these is impressive. Highly recommended!

*A Samsung is obviously not a Euro cold-fill machine, but for small, heavily stained loads like this I have a cheat. I do a "rinse only" cycle first, which thoroughly saturates the load with cool water. I let this drain, and just when the spin begins, I turn off the machine. This leaves the contents quite wet (and cold) so when the hot 140F fill begins, the resulting load temperature is only about 110F. My detergent now has time for the enzymes to work at low temps while the heater slowly (very slowly! lol) raises the wash temp to 158F. This is almost the same as enabling the "prewash" function, but I don't want the full spin in between.

Well played Alex ;) I now believe in your magical Tide Free & Gentle pods. Yes, Tide pods and Persil Pro-Caps do have an impressive enzyme cocktail!

I'm pleased..actually Alex as I was reading your second test with the Tide pods I found myself holding my breath..I think I just wanted others to have great results as I do with these I thought the roof was gonna cave in LOL..SO SICK....anyway I'm glad your having good results..and even though they are scent free which I like some people do like scented detergent but the scented Tide pods are so stinky. I think these ones give everything, great cleaning and stain removal,and softness. Add some FS and there's the scent. Tide pods including the FREE ones have more enzymes than any other US detergent that I'm aware of.

I could use these all the time, but I'm a powder girl and not ready to be loyal to one type yet. Besides my machine needs powders to stay healthy.

Being a child in the 1970's (and some would say 50's and 60's) was magical. We had torrid imaginations. We were creative. We built and took our adventures to "far away lands". We played in the streets, fields, forests and woods. We rode in the back of station wagons and pick up trucks. We drank from hoses. We made ramps out of scrap wood we'd find in our parent's and friends' parents garages...and we'd jump with our bicycles and skateboards. We rollerskated until our ankles could not roller anymore. When we played with our friends, we played with them. No texting, "parallel play". No video games and computers. It was so awesome, and I would not change a thing!!!!

Alex....part of the 80's were good too. I was a kid in the early 80's as well, and they were very similar to the 1970's. I honestly feel bad for kids born in the 90's and 2000's. I really do!

I decided when the boys were babies how they were going to play and it wasn't with video games...Tims the oldest 8&1/2 he doesn't have a cell phone..he does have video games, of course, after all its the age of computers, but he's limited on video time as he is with TV...the boys have learned to use their imagination, in the summer hubs often brings home large appliance boxes which they use for club houses, forts, grocery stores ect..hubs helps them cut out windows and doors and I've been known to hang fabric valances lol..they also play baseball and tag, all the fun kid stuff before computers took over our kids. This winter they have had great fun with blankets over the indoor pop-up clothesline fast and easy fort..last week I brought in 5 rocks about the size of footballs and scrubbed them, I rolled out a 5×6 green grass carpet I found at Lowes for 8 bucks and I gathered up sticks and evergreen branches..right on the floor in the family room they rolled out the rug, on top they placed the rocks and branches and dug out all their little plastic zoo animals. .for a week they have played Pittsburgh Zoo...lol...a few weeks ago they set up a booth using a long fold up table and a play cash register..they raided my food pantry and played shopping at Walmart. Kids I think will still play like days gone by they just need taught to do it. But we all lead busy lives and for many families there's just not the time, there were more parents that worked the home..today most families have 2 working parents and time is limited.
