What does covert ion mean?

Sorry..(and thank you auto correct) * convert ion is actually supposed to read as " conventional" oven. The salesman said the conventional oven plus the convection/microwave oven is a great combination for the value. If you include a range top you get $1300 off an additional appliance like a dishwasher, refrigerator or hood.

Joe, you missed it, the Wolf would compare to a MBZ, a higher end product.

I have both the Mercedes and the Wolf and the common thread they have is they are expensive both in initial cost and maintainence.

Before I bought anything Wolf, I would read about the blue porcelain chipping. It has been an issue with the E series ovens and DF ranges. The "M" oven was redesigned to get around the blue chipping but they got rid of the "convection bake" mode which is a very usable mode with slower fan speed. The gas range does not have the blue interior but as someone else her put it, it is kind of the red headed step child. It used to have a semi sealed burner tray. When they changed the burners over, they actually went down in power. It does have a great simmer and good control of the flame.

I would say none of the above. If you entertain, I would consider a range that holds a full baking sheet like BlueStar, Capital or maybe DCS. I entertain a fair amount and while I don't use a full sheet it would be nice to be able to put two half sheets side by side.

I have been really happy with my Electrolux oven but they have redesigned it so that it has dual fans( which should be a good thing) and blue porcelain on the racks so they can go through the self clean. They have had some issues with the blue enamel but doesn't seem to be as frequent as with Wolf. I would look at Bosch too .

I had a Jenn Air before and now have a Wolf. I can't imagine going back to a Jenn Air.

Refreshing, (as usual), Wekick, to see you tell it "Like It REALLY IS"!!!!

I have had an Electrolux oven, over 10 years now, You couldn't give me 10 Wolf ovens, to replace my Electrolux. It has been Completely trouble free. It is intuitive to use, large easy to read control panel, and temps etc spot on!

Likewise I would not trade my 10 year old 48" built in Jenn-air fridge, which has features even today's fridges do not have, (Unfortunately Jenn-air too), so we wont go into what you can't get today, just suffice it to say we Love that Fridge.

Electrolux Speed Oven and wine fridge, and Induction cooktop likewise all trouble free and well built.

The only "esoteric" or so called "High end appliance I own is a Miele Dishwasher. I did not buy it because it was a Miele, at the time 2006, it was the only DW made with a top cutlery tray, which was a "must have" for us, ya and we still love that tray!

This Mercedes / VDub comparison is a bunch of bunk by "Stuffed Shirts" that have no of what they are typing here about.

I Owned 2 mercedes Benz, they kept Mercedes Service Dept very busy and very happy. I finally said "Nuff is enough', went down to the Honda Dealer said "Gimmie any used Honda" to replace this piece of Junque that is giving me the "BENZ"!!!!! They did, and even thou I lost the "part that went over the fence last", I loved the Honda that replaced the Benz.

Like Wekick, I find it far more enjoyable and less stressful living in the real world of Quality!

curious as to what you bought and whether you're happy with your purchase? What was the deciding factor(s)? I'm looking at a similar decision right now. We are building a new house and while I like the idea of a fancy Wolf & Subzero kitchen, I'm not sure that it's worth the price (especially given there are so many other expenses.
