Very attractive space. Some fabulous art over the fireplace instead of the mirror and the matching (but rather predictable) knickknacks, would make all the difference!!!

I like seeing traditional elements mixed in with contemporary/modern decor. A traditional rug will look great and add a little dimension. Some faux fur pillows would also look great.

I would remove the black and white pillows and add some art. Make one piece of art large and bold.

If the term Knick Knack is used 10 times on the internet since 2011 and currently it's been used 13 times, that's a 30% increase,..... so percentages don't really tell us much. : - )

We work with design experts and we agree with Betty that the tv could be moved. Perhaps the tv could be mounted above the fireplace and some art work could be placed on that wall.
