I would get panicky. I'm 5'10".

You can do a search on Google or Houzz for low profile furniture. Depending on the width of the room, you might be able to get a low profile sectional in the area. Look for something that does not have the legs, but still the comfy of a couch. Remember that you will need back support if you cannot sit up straight. Keep the colors neutral if possible or accent it with something bold.... all depends on your taste.
