Replacement tree in front of house

What type of trees are the two trees on each side of the gate? Will it take full sun? We lost a tree to sun blistering the lower bark of our tree from the south and southwest sun. Also, how tall and wide will it get? Thanks ahead for your answer. Beautiful courtyard.

    Hi Mark,
    These are pleached hornbeam trees. They do need sun or partial sun and are known to be very hardy. They can also tolerate lack of water for a short period of time as long as the soil is fertile.
    I am not sure about blistering sun for a long period of time but most trees would suffer in these conditions.

    Yes it is hidden in the paving. A discreet slot drain taking the water to a drain beneath the terrace. I hope that helps.
