The tile or plaster in the pool surround will effect the color. If you are wanting a dark color like the picture, make sure to discuss the pros and cons with the installer before hand.

a liner will do the same. try looking at the liner colors at this website, see which color liner makes which color pool.

we just had a sand colored liner installed, it came out beautiful.

It looks like grey. However, my mom had grey plaster put in her pool. However, the pool sweep scratches the step and the scratches are white.

Most companies have pictures of what they have done in the past.

"black" pool plaster is not actually black but more of a charcoal gray. This looks like many of the charcoal gray plasters I have seen so that is my guess.
