It's nice! Clean lines... I'd stick wth the stone and paint the top half, maybe a forest green?

Shutters and siding color is good with your stone.

Maybe you just need a new front door assembly - that seems to not match up. Maybe this is the right place to use green, but I'd ask what you have inside color wise first.

The trim color around the windows that is dark is jarring against the cream shutters but it looks okay framing the garage door - I guess I'd like to see less contrast there - a darker carmel color rather than a chocolate brown, for instance. If you have white vinyl windows, that might be a place to try something.

Finally, get new light fixtures at the post, entry - add to the cottage look started with the shutter style.

You could pull a cottage move by painting the "porch" ceiling behind the camel trim the color of your shutters. That will bounce more light in there.

Once you get into a real makeover of construction then you are into big $ and small return, but here are some ideas. Your stoop at the front door is also narrower than they do today - you could raise the porch all the way across - not sure if it is is deep enough to use. If you get intot that, maybe they can beam and bridge the post that comes down in the middle of your picture window - clearly not planned well. Your posts could become more of a cottage feature with arches added to the tops and bottoms trimmed out in stone bases.

I LOVE the cottage look. I would say that is what the inside style is of my house. I don't love the color of the house. I was thinking maybe a charcoal and painting the casing around the windows white and the shutters white with maybe some window boxes. I think that's a GREAT idea about the porch and painting the ceiling.

Your posts at the front door are weak, I'd clad them in a complimentary stone and soften the front yard with some greenery. Its amazing what shrubs and trees can do to soften the look of your home.

Beef up those post!!! Maybe covering them in cedar. Definitely need new front door. If you want a storm door get one that is solid glass, it will not be so distracting. I do not love the brown around the windows. I also like the idea of cedar shutters. Stained a nice golden brown.
