We have a 36 inch Bosch that runs like a gem, can't offer any advice on the pot filler

Your wall space isn't large enough for the 42" hood that you need, and it seems your cabinet maker forgot to finish the cabinets before he delivered them, or he has an awfully high tolerance for mineral streaks in clear wood. So they'll need to go back to the shop and be finished in the clean room. While they are there, it won't be a big deal to remake those wall cabinets smaller.

Or something. Site finished means the cabinet maker got paid to give an incomplete job and the customer doesn't care at all about durability or bugs and dust.

Unless you boil pots of water every day, the water in the pipes to the filler will get stale as it sits there for days/weeks at a time and taste funny. Just like it does in your bathroom sink overnight.

It's a gimmick.

I have always finished my cabinets in the shop but if a customer asked me for unfinished cabinets because they had a painter to do the job I would build them and deliver them unpainted. I sprayed my finishes but did have a customer that wanted a faux finish that I did not do.

IMO pot fillers are one of those useless add ons as for your hood fan you will need to add makeup air to install the proper CFMs for the stove and IMO it does not have to wider than the stove but I would however not have the cabinets on either side there I think they look odd and I would have them removed.I love my fridgedaire fridge freezer with builtin kit hope you will too. I think site finished cabinets are a huge mistake but now they are there.

Thanks so much for the input! The cabinets are painted now and we have caesarstone countertops. I think I'm going to scratch the pot filler. Also, I have virtually no pantry storage so I have spices and oils in the two cabinets above the stove. Does that change your suggestions at all? All of you have been very helpful! Thank you!

One last thing- the space between the two uppers is 38" so a 36" wall mount with a chimney will be a close fit but appears to be my best option given the space above the cabinets. Help!

Remove those wall cabinets. They just look wrong. No pull on the false panel unless you want a bruised hip. And you need a 42" hood.

What product did the painter use?

That is the worst place to store spices or oils so remove them really.

the thing is.... any cabinet with lighting underneath is the worst place to store them, so i'd say keep a working supply of oil and spices close at hand and do the rest 'cool and dark'.

We opted for a stainless backsplash, had one made to fit at a local fabricator, and the price was very reasonable. You will always be happy you put in a pot filler! I realize your choice is made, that you'll put in a range hood. I've always disliked them, so opted for a venting system that slides out when in use, the pipe concealed by cabinets. Didn't get a lot more storage, but did acquire some, and really like not needing to clean the range hood!
