Cast stone can be a great material for coping on a swimming pool. It can, however, be quite costly, depending on the shape of the pool, and the edge design on the cast stone. We often use Leuder limestone on our pools. It actually looks a lot like cast stone, but is readily available (at least in Texas) and is much more cost effective.

Thank you for the advice. We are in the design phase of building a pool and want to do precast stone as coping and also for stairs and collumns. Have been told that it does not age very well and takes on an eggshell look due to salt leaching, particularly around a pool. Any advice on how well it holds up around a pool ?
