I think a gallery wall there would be great, but it's a truly lousy place for the TV. If you want to show us the rest of the room, maybe we can find a better arrangement.

One question first...is there any other spot for the TV?

The living room is open to the dining room, btw.

then put a sofa table behind the sofa? might divide the space nicely? then put a large mirror & or gallery wall where the tv originally was & add a light on it?

That is exactly what I'd love to do but the sectional is too long, it would block the hallway (to the left of the tv). It either has to go there or in front of the window.

We have smaller sofas but they are in the small finished basement as the sectional does not fit down there,

IMO your sectional should be placed to define your foyer area. Can you turn the sectional or reconfigure it in any fashion?

Use something vertical for art behind the opened door and something different -- a large attractive clock -- over the tv itself.

For the something vertical, consider pressed metal wire wall art.

To get the tv to visually appear centered, you could also add a pair of vertical trim boards -- one on each side of the tv -- and paint that wall between the boards as an accent wall.

You could add one of these modern shelving units below and another the same width above the tv to help define the wall at the tv as a separate, centered space.

If you put your couch in front of the window, will you tv fit on the small wall across from window?

@outshopping422- It would but the tv stand would stick out to far coming out of the hallway and it would be across from only the end of the sofa. It seems the only solution is to get rid of the sectional and get a much smaller sofa and a few small chairs. Guess I have to live with it as is for now, not going to so a gallery wall.

What is the size of the wall, and tv ?

I suppose the TV is in the best place for viewing as long as you have that enormous sectional.

I know you didn't ask, but I can't help myself. I love your color palette, but the mirror and metal things do nothing for that wall over the sectional, not to mention they're hung too high. You could really punch this room up with some art.

Your curtains also look skimpy.I would get more panels and either hang them in the middle or double up on the ends.

Yeah, we did no decorating- just moved our furniture in. Didn't even paint. I didn't want to buy artwork for over the couch if were eventually going to move it and put the tv there.
