Really like this mix of colors with a sofa similar to yours!

Do you have any other colors in the room? Art on the walls?

It appears even the baskets on the floor and side table match the sofa. Use the sofa color as a neutral back ground color, which now gives you freedom to bring in a bright fun, patterned fabric in your pillows, for a throw blanket, lamp shade, paint color and/or art on the walls. Bring in contrasting colors and they can go lighter or darker.

HI -- Have different shaped cushions and also have some lumbar shaped cushions that are the same color and fabric as the sofa if you can to keep it from looking cluttered . Then have two other colors in different patterns . You could also then add one fur cushion and throw for interest .

The sofa, and the rug, and walls, are so very neutral that you can choose whatever colors appeal to you.

I'd suggest you find a large painting you love (or maybe there's one outside the sofa photo range that we can't see), and draw colors from it for a unified color scheme. In the meantime, shop TJ Maxx, etc, for pillows and a throw in colors you enjoy, with varied textures.

Susan2494 I don't have anything on the walls currently, I've been looking for things but it's a bit overwhelming.

Can you post photo of the room. Perhaps we can put some things in the room for you and give you some ideas. At least get you started on the right path.

Found these gorgeous designer fabric pillows with touches of olive and brown on Etsy. They would not work together but one or the other would look beautiful mixed with some solid textured pillows.

Is your club chair a pale yellow or tan hard to tell in picture? Best to place all your furniture before hanging art or shelves.....will you be adding or replacing any furniture?

Thanks it sure does! My chair is a sort of gold color but I don't plan on keeping it. I also feel that the room is too big now and the couch is far from the TV...any suggestions?

I think the chair is way too big for that space but didn't want to add that because it wasn't what you were asking about :) The couch looks more brown to me but even if it is olive-y I would search around for some inspo rooms and start with adding some paint and drapes and wall decor before purchasing pillows! It looks too bare at this point to decide.

Yes I think the chair is also that's why I will soon be getting rid of it, but I don't know what to put in it's place. The room is painted already and I just bought drapes, I will post them next. I'm in need of wall décor and pillows.

Sorry from your photo it looked like it was still white! Have you considered an accent wall? I like the curtains you just have a lot of beige going on.. If thats not an option maybe just a large piece of art. Some floating corner shelves behind the corner of the sectional would be nice too. I would add a mirror on the wall opposite the windows and an area rug that ties it all together..

My TV is on the accent wall, it's a very dark grey with brown in it to warm it up.

Just green as an example because of some of the pillow examples you've gotten and liked.

I would suggest that you send dimensions for the room and define your furniture arrangement before you start adding accessories. Once you get your furniture in place and decide what pieces stay or are replaced, then add your rug and accessories.

BTW, I am not a fan of corner or floating shelves over a sofa. They are dust collectors and have very little impact on the space.

Its hard to tell without viewing the whole wall.. I think that mirror actually measures 30in. and I was centering it with the couch so you don't want it to be too big, especially if you've got a large white shelf near.. being that the rest of the room is coming off as darker your white shelf is going to draw a lot of the attention. Maybe finding a rug with some brighter colors you like might be the right place to start here.

I too tend to gravitate towards all these neutrals then I'll step back and look at a room and its like.. Is this a room or a beige blob? I think beige and neutrals can work great as long as you choose things that contrast it. Right now your curtains, couch, carpet, end tables, and lamps are all just blending right together - granted we haven't seen the other wall yet - but this is what you see when you walk in so this will be your first impression of the room.

Oh Susan is definitely right.. If this isn't your for-sure arrangement for the sectional and tv that's definitely where you should start.

The room is staying the way it is furniture wise I'm just eventually getting rid of the chair (once I find something else to go in it's place). I just don't know how to decorate with the color of the couch I know it looks brown there but it's called bay green. It's throwing me off.

Could always lighten the walls and accent furniture to play up the green.. A smaller white or light chair similar to the second image would fit in that space better as well.

Ok here is the living room.

Can we see the other side of the room? To me, the whole space feels kind of out of balance. Its hard to tell from this picture but I think it might work and "flow" a lot better if the couch was flipped to the other corner, the chair (or whatever chair you change to) was turned, and the TV mounted on that left wall. The way it is now is making your room feel very long and hard to work with.

I have an in the window air conditioner so I didn't want to put the couch in front of it because it would then be blowing right over your head. But that was what u originally wanted to do.

Also if you flip it, you can create a vignette of your beautiful baskets near where that lamp is now so they're not hiding in that corner!

Otherwise.. I would add an interesting overhead light that draws the eye upward in there, an area rug, a long piece of art over top of those lamps if they are going to stay that close together, some mirrors, and lighter or brighter colored items. I don't think I would put a chair where that one is at all.. Maybe get a smaller one and flip it to face the couch but still touching the area rug you buy, so it feels more like a "seating area" than a whole room pointing towards a far off television. I know I'm all about the area rugs anyway but this space definitely needs one with that large entry way in to pull the room together.

Like this? Move the chair closer to the window and more in the corner and put the tv across from it? That would look good and I would get rid of the chair and do a bench where the tv is now.

Can you put the narrow stand that was behind the couch before back behind the couch (atleast that's what it looked like was back there) and move the couch backwards closer to the windows? You're curtains will help close that gap as well.. I understand the baseboard heating struggle I've got them too =) I do think this configuration is going to feel a lot more comfortable.

That's a good idea about the sofa table, I will see how that would look, just afraid if I put the table behind it that will make the couch too close to the tv. I can always put a side table on one side and get a different standing light that will go over the couch in the other corner.

Is the sofa table wider than the stand you have behind the couch now? I was looking to move the couch further from the tv and closer to the windows with moving it back there. I would definitely try to narrow that gap you have between the sofa and the windows. Get it arranged how you want and take some new photos and start a new thread, there are so many people here who can help you with décor and color ideas from there!
